Wrist warmers, arm warmers, fingerless gloves, fingerless mittens... I don't know what to call them but I made them just like I thought I would. It had to happen. They are so much fun to make and so comfortable to wear. I placed them on Etsy today.
I also started to learn how to knit again, but then in the continental way. I just can't believe I didn't know about this sooner. With the old way of knitting you hold the knitting thread in your right hand and with the continental way you hold the thread in your left hand. It makes a huge! difference. Just search for continental knitting on You Tube and you will see what it is all about. The movements you make are so much smaller and I can already feel that it is much more shoulder and arm friendly. I also switched from regular needles to circular ones. No more holding those pointy sticks under your sweaty armpit but your work can rest on your lap or on the table. I bought this set at Finlandia Import in Bergen. Great mother and daughter team at this shop. They share a lot of knowledge between them and make you feel right at home.
This must be hard to swallow for everyone who doesn't knit. Sorry! No I am not... I think everyone has to learn how to knit... the continental way or not.
