I have been racing like a maniac through the house this morning. Doing six things at the same time. Sometimes this works. Not today. Need to chill for an hour or so. Outside. In the sun. Knitting socks from left over sock yarn. They don't match at all. Just the way I like it.
Looking better. But, still something is missing...
Ahaa! That's it!
First Free Pattern up on Ravelry! Yeah! It is called:
The cup cozy I designed fits a long glass. The glass is 13 cm (5.2 “) tall. The circumference is 17 cm (6.7”) at the smallest part (bottom) and 22 cm (8.7 “) at the widest part. The finished cup cozy I made with the wool that I used measures about 16 cm (6.3 “) in circumference and 9 cm (3.5 “) lengthwise.
The knitting is done in the round on two circular needles.
Leftover sock wool. I used 2 strands held together. About 10 grams total
Two circular knitting needles 4 mm. (6 US/8 UK)
Cast on 33 stitches with the long tail cast-on using one circular needle. Slide the 33 stitches from the needle to the cord. Divide the stitches in half by pulling the cord in between the 17th and the 18th stitch. You now have 17 stitches on one needle point and 16 stitches on the other needle point (from the same needle). Transfer the extra (17th) stitch to the front needle and knit this stitch together with the first stitch to close the round. Make sure your work is not twisted. Start knitting with the second circular needle. From now on you have 16 stitches on each of the two circular needles.
*Knit 2, purl 2. Repeat from * for about 26 rounds. Or until you have reached the length you need. Bind off loosely knitwise. Weave in the ends.
Enjoy your tea or coffee…and the knitting off course!
Feel free to use this pattern, but please don’t sell it as if it is yours. It is ok to sell the finished product. If you want me to teach you in real life how to knit it or if you want to me to knit you some…let me know.
