I am suffering happily from the hat knitting virus.
It all started two weeks ago when I decided to knit a quick hat for my father in law.
A classic black one with cables. Forgot to make a picture so I can't show it here. My father in law is recovering from a stroke. He is doing very well now, but it was a bit scary at first.
When we received news that he was able to walk behind a walker we were over the moon and I cast on the hat.
Last saturday I went for a walk with him and he proudly wore his new black hat. This makes me very happy.
My mother in law is doing well on her own. Althought it is very hard on her. Being alone without her husband for the first time in their life is difficult.
I am so proud of her. She takes the bus to visit him and has dinner with him every single day. And I know she hates the hospital food.
I am also proud of this fine young man. He has been very patient. He had his eyes on a few of the hats that were flying off my needles but I brought them to De Vlotte Knot in Amsterdam where they are for sale right now. He almost gave up but since yesterday he is the proud owner of his very own hat.
